She believes that dry eye is far more than an eye condition, it is often a reflection of overall health. Rather than simply treating symptoms, Dr. Malik takes a comprehensive, individualized approach to uncover the underlying causes of each patient's dry eye. She recognizes that factors such as inflammation, hormonal changes, autoimmune conditions, nutrition, medications, environmental exposures, and lifestyle habits all play an important role in ocular surface health. By addressing these contributing factors, she develops customized treatment plans designed to provide long-term relief and restore healthy tear function.
Dr. Malik combines advanced diagnostic technology with evidence-based treatments to create personalized care plans tailored to each patient's unique needs. Her treatment approach may include in-office therapies, eyelid and meibomian gland treatments, nutritional recommendations, home care regimens, and ongoing maintenance plans that evolve as her patients' eyes improve. She believes that no two dry eye patients are the same, and every treatment plan should reflect that philosophy.
Born in Canada and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, Dr. Malik earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of British Columbia before receiving her Doctor of Optometry degree from Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University.
During her clinical training, Dr. Malik completed advanced rotations in ocular disease diagnosis and management at the VA Medical Centers in Palo Alto, California, and North Miami, Florida. She also received specialized training in pediatric eye care and specialty contact lenses in Houston, Texas, and Vancouver, British Columbia.
Whether caring for a child needing their first pair of glasses or a patient struggling with chronic dry eye, Dr. Malik is committed to providing compassionate, personalized care built on education, trust, and the latest advancements in eye care. Her goal is to help every patient enjoy healthier eyes, greater comfort, and clearer vision for years to come.
Outside the office, Dr. Malik enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending quality time with her husband and their twin boys.
